Health and Human Performance
About Health and Human Performance
The Cumberland University Health and Human Performance program promotes active participation in sport and physical activity across the life span. The program prepares future professionals for careers in athletic training, fitness and wellness, physical education, strength and conditioning, and careers in Sport Management.
The program offers a Baccalaureate degree in Health and Human Performance with emphasis in Physical Education and Health, Sport & Exercise Science, or Sport Management. Minors are available in Coaching, Strength and Conditioning, and Physical Education, and Health.
The Physical Education and Health emphasis, leading to a K-12 Tennessee teaching license, provides the fundamental understanding of the development and analysis of motor behavior, science of movement and the human body, and the art of teaching individuals for a physically active lifestyle.
Successful completion of the Sport & Exercise emphasis program prepares the student to be Nationally Certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) and/or the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
