Disability Services
Cumberland University is committed to meeting the needs of students with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Under the administrative oversight of the Executive Vice President, the person responsible for coordinating the services for students with disabilities is the Director of Counseling and Disability Services. Students with disabilities should request a meeting with the Director of Counseling and Disability Services upon enrollment at the University. While students can initiate the process of receiving academic accommodations at any time during the semester, it is recommended that students register with the Director of Counseling and Disability Services during the first two weeks of class to receive special accommodations during that semester. The Director of Counseling and Disability Services is assisted by various faculty, staff members, Academic Affairs Office personnel, and Student Disability Services Committee.

Disability Services office staff will assist all students in complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Individuals with complaints concerning services for students with disabilities should be directed to the Office of the Executive Vice President.
