Policy Provisions
1. Damage Assessment
At the end of each semester and, if necessary, periodically during the year, damages to student rooms and common areas of residence halls are assessed. Damages within a room are charged to the room occupants. Damages in hallways, lounges, restrooms and other common areas are charged to the person(s) responsible (if identified). Otherwise, all floor or hall residents are collectively charged. Any damage or loss of residence hall recreation equipment is charged to the person(s) responsible (if identified). Otherwise, all residents are collectively charged. The University is not liable for theft or damage to the personal belongings of resident students.
