Policy Provisions
1. Graduation Probation
Students enrolled in the M.S.P. degree program are required to maintain no less than a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 to remain in good standing. When a student’s grade point average falls below the minimum required, the student is automatically placed on probation and must petition through the M.S.P. Program Advisor, and the Graduate Council to continue in course work. Students on probation may remain on probation for a maximum of one (1) semester; if the student’s cumulative grade point average has not risen to the required 3.00 level at the end of one (1) semester of probation, the student may be officially withdrawn from the program. If the student is withdrawn from a graduate program, he/she must remain inactive for a complete academic semester, and then must reapply for graduate enrollment. Re-enrollment is not automatic, and will only be allowed with the consent of the Graduate Council, Dean of the School of Humanities, Education, and the Arts and the M.S.P. Program Advisor. When a graduate student on probation achieves a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or above, that student is automatically removed from a probationary status and is considered to be in good standing.
